Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION
The OneStop Student Services Specialist (continuing education / workforce development) provides general support services to students and is knowledgeable of the College’s programs and resources with an emphasis on continuing education and workforce development. The specialist role has a working knowledge of courses, credentials, fees, registrations, and scholarship information. This position (30 hours per week) plays a critical role among potential students who are seeking credentials, scholarships, start dates, and program criteria. Qualified candidates should be expected to communicate accurate information regarding College programs while also fostering trust and rapport. Data entry, confidentiality, and written communication are expected. This position will provide quality customer service and ensure the accuracy of CEWD documentation for Continuing Education and Workforce Development Courses and Pathways.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcoming ands assisting students with understanding course requirements, fees, prerequisites, forms, start dates, available scholarships and grants, etc.
- Answers phones, electronic CEWD inquires and provides customer service for potential CEWD students.
- Communicates with potential students and referring agencies via email.
- Assists with student registration form completion and entering into Colleague.
- Accurately enters data associated with student registrations and payment.
- Verifies student information with program coordinators and instructors to meet deadlines.
- Verifies attendance records, rosters and activity logs.
- Participates in program evaluations and annual program audits.
- Runs and distributes Fire Report weekly.
- Maintains the CEWD course database, ensuring that information is current and accurate, update with course information and section numbers.
- Enters into the Database students who have registered and paid for CE courses.
- Responsible for CEWD Scholarship applications, letters, database updates, and student follow-up.
- Provides administrative support for entering Section Contracts and as requested.
- Participates in college training, NCCCS conferences and planning sessions.
- Maintains open communication with the Director of Internal Auditor/Records.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Customer Service Experience
- Microsoft Office Intermediate User
