The North Carolina Community College System (System Office) is a statewide network of 58 public community colleges. The system enrolls over 500,000 students annually. It is the 3rd largest in the nation based on the number of colleges. It also provides data to the North Carolina Learning Object Repository by collecting, contributing, and sharing digital learning resources for use in traditional or distance learning environments. NC Community Colleges System Office has an opening for a BioBetter Curriculum Developer in the Economic Development Division. The recruitment salary up to: $90,000.
The Economic Development team provides education, training, and support services for new, expanding, and existing business and industry in all 100 North Carolina counties through our network of 58 community colleges.
BioNetwork provides high-quality economic and workforce development for the biotechnology and life science industries across North Carolina through education, training, and laboratory resources. BioNetwork also supports the future biotechnology and life science workforce through teacher training and outreach.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The primary function of this new position is to The Education Program Director II will develop and revise industry training courses to meet the needs of the life science industry. The position will perform needs analysis with industry reps and community colleges to identify skill gaps or missing portions of education and training. The Education Program Director II is responsible for completing the production of online and in-person curriculum in collaboration with elearning and virtual elearning coordinators with BioNetwork and the BioBetter grant. The position will collaborate with external grant partners and work with the system office and Economic Development team to identify opportunities to serve the life science industry with current and high level education and training. The position may involve travel to colleges or industry sites to do needs assessments or conduct industry roundtables. The position will report to the Executive Director of BioNetwork of the NC Community College System Office.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/AND ABILITIES:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of instructional design theory and practice.
- Experience working with community college or education representatives, experience working with industry and subject matter experts.
- Knowledge of instructional design principals such as ADDIE or LLAMA.
- Strong interpersonal skills that promote collaboration and productivity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills that adhere with instructional design.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with college and external partners.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond appropriately to time-sensitive issues.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload, with strong organizational skills.
- Experience with classroom education and training a plus.
