 Master’s degree in higher education administration, student personnel or other closely related field from an accredited institution

 Two years’ experience in academic advising, career development or other related function within higher education

 Experience using Colleague

 Experience within the North Carolina Community College System

POSITION

Academic Advisor – Career and College Promise

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

The Academic Advisor provides advising services to new and returning students in areas related to academic advisement including graduation and transfer requirements; advising students on various careers and on the requirements necessary for achieving career goals; develops and implements student outreach/recruitment; and monitors student progress. This position also provides guidance and mentoring to optimize the student experience to improve student retention and success and assist the College in achieving its mission and vision of service to the community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Master’s degree in higher education administration, student personnel or other closely related field from an accredited institution

 Two years’ experience in academic advising, career development or other related function within higher education

 Hiring range is $43,500-$45,500
