Minimum Qualifications

· Minimum of 3 years of office-related administrative experience

· Effective oral and written communication skills

· Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications)

Preferred Qualifications

· Associate degree in a field appropriate for the position

· Evidence of being detail-oriented and ability to multi-task

· Personal and professional integrity that communicates a sense of mission, leadership, and ability to self-start

· Demonstrated positive and proactive approach in identifying problems, creating innovative solutions, and managing projects

· Proven ability to deal effectively, cooperatively and tactfully with students, business/industry, government and community representatives/citizens, faculty, staff, administrators

· Experience with web/video conferencing applications

· Experience managing budgets

Position Description

Job Description

The Academic and Student Affairs Administrative Assistant is a full-time position primarily located at the LL Polk Campus in Polkton, NC. Under the direction of the Academic Affairs Administrative Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Associate Vice President for Student Success in the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. 

Job Duties

General Expectations

· Exhibit an uncompromising commitment to SPCC as a learning-centered college through the college’s mission, vision, values, core skills and learning outcomes, and delivery of instruction and services

· Participate in institutional, advisory, and program/instruction committee meetings, campus activities, and representation of the college in the community

· Continue professional development for the improvement of self and the department to meet the needs of a learning-centered college

· Work with recruiters and marketing to promote SPCC

Departmental Expectations

· Prepare agendas, type and distribute minutes for leadership, department, faculty and advisory board meetings

· Assist in calendaring for individuals and group meetings

· Assist department in managing budget by monitoring expenditures and participate in developing budget recommendations, including forecasting anticipated budgetary needs for adjunct and overload instructional staff, equipment, and supplies.

· Order office supplies

· Assist with projects as assigned

· Assist with report development and generation

· Assist with part-time contracts as needed

Facility Expectations

· Make requests for room reservations in 25Live

· Schedule meetings, events and activities as needed

· Order and inventory office supplies and materials for the facility

· Maintain the SharePoint site and office recordkeeping

· Assist with classroom needs and technical trouble shooting

All other duties as assigned.
