A minimum of an Associate degree in Accounting or Business Administration with one (1) – three (3) years of experience in an automated accounting environment is required for this position.
As stated in minimum qualifications.
Reconciles Cashier(s) sessions, runs and balances reports, posts invoices to general ledger, and verifies information on bank deposits daily. Processes student refunds. Posts financial aid invoices to the general ledger. Assists with processing and invoicing third party billings. Maintains and balances miscellaneous general ledger accounts on a monthly basis. Runs monthly accounts receivable reports and verifies accounts receivable and general ledger are in balance. Creates and maintains verification reports for monthly credit card transactions. Prepares various year-end reports for Controller. Monitors student accounts and mails registration statements with outstanding balances throughout the semester. Assists with Cashier duties during registration and serves as a backup cashier as needed. Assists Registrar with purge processes. Prepares reports required by the North Carolina Community College System. Prepares payment vouchers for miscellaneous invoices (Accident Insurance, Malpractice Insurance, Bookstore, College Foundation, etc.) Maintains the distribution of petty cash and gas cards for the college. Maintains the room/building/cabinet key system. Manages the Debt Setoff process and student collections and places and/or removes appropriate holds on student accounts. Handles the 1098T tax reporting for AR students. Oversees mail operation for the college. Handles refunds and issues with vending machines. Serves as administrator for, providing access to, BankMobile, Official Payments, and Cashier set-up in Colleague. Serves on institutional committees as appointed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to: Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Operate a PC and related software. Process and complete accounting tasks with accuracy. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, vendors, the general public, and other governmental officials. Compile, evaluate, and reconcile a variety of accounting records and reports. Perform a variety of financial and accounting support functions being able to change priorities quickly.
