Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of basic fund accounting principles and payroll tax requirements. 

Minimum Education and Experience:

Associate degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or related field required. Three years payroll experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word applications.

Position Description

General Description:  The Accounting Technician, under the supervision of the Controller, has primary responsibility for all payroll functions.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

  1. Write, verify, audit, and distribute payroll checks and advices; verify check registers and maintain part-time personnel files.
  2. Process all information relating to part-time and full-time payroll. Process, code, and verify all timesheets and contracts; batch, compute, and post payroll on a monthly basis.
  3. Cashier as needed during registration.
  4. Prepare and file all payroll tax reports (941, state taxes, worker's comp audits etc.). Prepare and distribute W-2's; file quarterly reports to the Employment Security Commission.

       5.  Meet all internal and external deadlines for processing and reporting payroll.

       6.  Assist with ACA reporting and requirements.

      7.  Other duties. (Willingness to accept and fulfill additional assignments.)
