Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline is required. All post-secondary credentials must be from regionally accredited institutions. Proficiency in computer software is required. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be a self-starter, a team player, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others. A valid North Carolina driver's license with a driving record sufficient to be covered under the Wayne Community College auto policy is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred. Two years of instructional experience is preferred. Bilingual is preferred.
Position Description
The instructor will teach ART 111 with the possibility to teach ART 114 and/or 115. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in the subject area and submit academic reports and records promptly. Applicants must be able to teach day and evening classes, which may include classes offered at area high schools or Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Courses may be required to be taught using traditional methods (seated), online, and hybrid.
