Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Must hold a current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, a Nurse LicensureCompact State, or to be eligible for licensure ( must have temporary license prior to employment)
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support
- Current immunizations and annual tuberculosis screening per department policy

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Five years of clinical experience
- Teaching experience at the college level

Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Adjunct Nursing is responsible for all aspects of educational encounters with nursing students on-campus, in laboratory simulation, at clinical sites, and through other delivery methodologies in accordance with College policy and procedures. The relationship of this adjunct faculty member to the student is one of a leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in development, implementation, evaluation and revision of curriculum as indicated
Plans and provides learning experiences based on programs objectives/ outcomes
Provides clinical supervision and guidance (clinical and skills lab) to students as assigned
Participates in academic advising and counseling as assigned
Assists with test construction and proctoring of examinations as needed
- Evaluates student progress toward goal achievement
- Identifies at-risk students and intervene with assistance of Lead Instructor
- Maintains professional competence and licensure through continuing education, professional activitiesand/or practice
- Participate in program level meetings, and college committees as assigned
- Performs other duties as required including general administrative/office duties as needed

OTHER RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and support of College policies and procedures
- Must be able to work either days or evening clinical
- Ability to use Microsoft office, Office 365, Moodle and Internet
- Must have the ability and vocabulary required to communicate with all levels of staff, faculty,subordinates, students, and the public in the performance of the job
