Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree in Early Childhood or related discipline with 18 graduate semester hours in Early Childhood or Child Development from a regionally accredited institution is required. Experience in teaching young children (birth to age 8) is required. This job requires a candidate with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be organized and proficient with commonly used computer software.
Preferred Qualifications
It is preferred the candidate be familiar with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation. Teaching experience in community college or post-secondary education and Bilingual are preferred.
Position Description
The position requires teaching 3-12 contact hours per semester. Duties include developing curriculum and assisting in evaluation and acquisition of instructional materials, equipment and textbooks. Participation in required special events including faculty meetings, orientation, planning processes and assessing student learning outcomes. This position demonstrates a commitment to creating a culture that encourages excellence, professional development, continued competence in area of responsibility and an understanding of the diverse backgrounds of students and employees.
