Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent experience as a clinical chairside Dental Assistant 
  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a closely related field
  • Diploma in Dental Assisting from an accredited Dental Assisting program
  • Current DANB Certified Dental Assistant - CDA
  • Teaching experience in a Dental Assisting program
  • Current continuing dental education experience in Dental Assisting course content
  • Educational teaching methodology coursework experience
  • Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification
  • Flexibility to work in afternoons/evenings
  • Strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with online course management systems (such as Moodle or Blackboard)
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team environment
  • Ability to support student and respond to students needs
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college
  • Effectiveness in the following College organizational competencies:

Position Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO ON A TYPICAL DAY::

 

An adjunct faculty position at Davidson-Davie Community College is a part-time position, with the faculty member's primary efforts focused on teaching and learning, academic excellence and student success. In addition, a faculty member is responsible for engaging in professional development and promoting the College mission, vision, and values. Dental assisting courses meet during the afternoons and evenings. Faculty employed by the College are responsible for the following:
