Minimum Qualifications
Required:
A minimum of 1 year of prior teaching experience in a classroom/lab setting
Proven evidence of leadership ability, supervisory experience and commitment to teamwork
Strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction
Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team environment
Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college
Effectiveness in the following College organizational competencies:

Position Description
This is a College and Career instructional position.
The Adjunct Faculty, HiSet and Careers, is a part-time position responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; administering tests; maintaining accurate instructional records; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College. This position reports directly to the Director of Get REAL.
The Adjunct Faculty, HiSet and Careers, has the following responsibilities:
Promotes College mission, values, and vision
Teaches assigned courses to meet program needs
Evaluates student progress and provides appropriate feedback
Prepares lesson plans, course overviews, and course syllabi
Prepares lessons in Reading and Math and aligns them with the North Carolina Community College System College and Career Readiness Adult Secondary Education Content Standards
Uses CASAS boost and other instructional materials to improve instruction in the areas of Math and Reading
Uses and promotes appropriate technology to enhance student learning outcomes
Assists in the evaluation of courses and programs
Performs other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College
