Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Aviation Systems Technology or completion of an accredited FAA 147 School program is required. Applicants must have a current certification with the combined Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) mechanic license by the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA). Good oral and written communication skills are required. Proficiency with computer software required.

Preferred Qualifications

 Five years of full-time employment as an FAA licensed A&P mechanic preferred. Two years of community college or post-secondary teaching experience preferred. Preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation preferred. Bilingual preferred.

Position Description

Primary responsibilities include classroom and lab instruction of aviation students. Additional duties include course planning, development, and evaluation; creating, administering, maintaining records, and maintaining course tests and exams, lab projects, and other activities. Generate reports for evaluation of students in each course. Ensure all academic training for the AMT program maintains compliance with Federal Aviation Agency Regulations.
