Position Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Our Adult Basic Life-skills Education (ABLE) program serves students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to prepare them for college, a career, or independent living in a supportive academic setting.
Instructors in College and Career Readiness provide quality learning experiences, facilitate the learning process, participate in professional development opportunities, and contribute to the development of the College and Career Readiness program.
Adjunct faculty are employed on a per course basis. A temporary at-will contract will be prepared for each course taught. Part-time position (up to 25 hours per week), salary commensurate with education and experience.
DUTIES:
College and Career Readiness ABLE instructors work to prepare students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities for entry into a college or career pathway, or to prepare for more independent living by increasing general education, social skills, vocational education, and life-skills.
Instructors work alongside the Lead Instructor for College and Career Readiness to track the performance of their students through pre/post-testing and classroom performance. Instructors are responsible for tracking attendance and working with the Lead Instructor to maintain student retention.
Other responsibilities may include lesson plan preparation, incorporating contextualized instruction and/or differentiated instruction, appropriate integration of technology, accurate record keeping, and weekly and monthly paperwork submission.
All College and Career Readiness instructors are expected to provide an inclusive educational environment.

- Annually review all Randolph Community College safety rules and policies and be familiar with all emergency safety procedures.

- Randolph Community College conducts a background check and drug screening on all full-time new hires.
