Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of American Dental Association accreditation process
Knowledge of the current blood borne pathogen standard requirements regarding infection control and HazCom standards
Current CPR Certification
Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
Be innovative, creative, motivated
Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
Good organizational skills
Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, computers, and web-based resources such as BlackBoard
Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Requirements:
Associate Degree (Certificate) in Dental Hygiene or related
Graduate of an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited Dental Hygiene Program

Currently licensed as a Dental Hygienist

Two years private practice experience

Position Description
Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of adjunct faculty to teach laboratory, clinicals or diadactics in Dental Hygiene courses. Openings for these positions may not exist at the present time; however upon review of your qualifications, you may be contacted in the future.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

* Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
* Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
* Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
* Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
* Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
* Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
*Supports American Dental Association CODA standards in operating the program as well as the objectives and mission of the institution
Participates in curriculum development and program design with the Department Head
Collaborates with laboratory and clinical course directors to accomplish the goals of education
Promotes continued dental hygiene education program growth through a strong education system
Serves as a member of faculty committees, attends scheduled faculty meetings, and participates in professional organizations and community activities
