Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of full-time experience in pharmacy practice
- Licensed/Certified and in good standing by NC Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician
- Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Pharmacy Technology
OR
- Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or higher from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited school or university in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Technology
- Knowledge of instructional methods
- Teaching experience in higher education
Position Description
The Part-Time Adjunct Instructor, Pharmacy Technician provides quality learning experiences, facilitates and evaluates the learning process, mentors’ students, participates in job-related professional development opportunities, and contributes to the development of course curriculum while evaluating student progress in the classroom and laboratory environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Teach program material via seated and/or online classes as required by the schedule.
- Learn new material to keep up with changing technology.
- Facilitate regular and substantive interaction via proactive communication with students.
- Participate in recruiting new students.
- Ensure classrooms, labs, and lab equipment are in good repair and maintain a safe environment for students and employees.
- Represent the program within the College and community as a point of contact with enthusiasm.
DUTIES:
- Help to assure that the pharmacy technician course is up to date, abreast of technology, and in compliance with state and national accreditation standards.
- Teach classes as assigned to meet objectives of the syllabus, evaluate students, and participate in course improvements.
- Participate in recruitment for Pharmacy Technician course.
- Participate in student and personnel policy matters including grade contesting, student complaints, and employee issues.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
