Minimum Qualifications

The purpose is providing quality instruction for all students enrolled in their assigned classes in compliance with Blue Ridge Community College’s “Open Door” policy. The ultimate goal is meeting the occupational and general educational needs of the students. Classes may include curriculum, continuing education, workforce training, or other courses, and may be scheduled during day, evening, or weekend.

Education:

Associate degree in Welding Technology, or a closely related field. Prefer American Welding Society (AWS) educator and inspector certification.

Experience:

Industry experience in welding technology with a minimum of three years’ work related experience. Previous college teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The faculty member will possess strong personal and professional integrity, good verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position.

Physical Demands:

The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
