Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree in Mathematics or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products; excellent oral and written communication skills; a self-starter; team player, and the ability to work collaboratively with others is required. Must be available to teach using traditional methods (seated), online, and hybrid classes as needed. A valid North Carolina driver's license with a driving record sufficient to be covered under the Wayne Community College auto policy is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and experience with the following are preferred: use of technology, LMS, and online software. Teaching and designing math curricula for college transfer and developmental courses; use of retention practices and student learning outcomes. One to three years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred. Experience working with a diverse population and bilingual is preferred
Position Description
Instructional duties include teaching day, evening, weekend, and online math courses in curriculum and/or academic foundations. Adherence to achieving learning outcomes is expected. Classes meet on the main campus, online, and at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Duties include submitting reports as required and maintaining student evaluation records; participation in curriculum development, revision, implementation, and evaluation; and performing all other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and or Dean.
