Minimum Qualifications
A certificate in Pharmacy Technician with a Diploma in Pharmacy Technology is required. An Associate’s Degree with three years of experience working as a pharmacy technician or pharmacist is required. Must have a demonstrated competence in one or more areas of pharmacy practice and a demonstrated ability to teach effectively. Candidate must be a dependable, dedicated professional and highly motivated self-starter. Good oral and written communication skills and a general working knowledge of computers are required.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A current National Pharmacy Certification with five years of full-time Pharmacy Technician work experience is preferred. Experience teaching adults and teaching online courses is preferred. A National Career Readiness
Position Description
Duties include teaching student to perform basic Pharmacy techniques in compliance with appropriate state and national agencies, teaching mandated curriculums, teaching program guidelines and regulations. The instructor will evaluate the competency of each student through laboratory/skill practice and clinical evaluations. Duties also include maintaining academic, attendance, and student records. Travel to clinical sites is required and all other duties assigned by the Director of Allied Health, Workforce Continuing Education.
