Minimum Qualifications

A certificate in Phlebotomy and two years of current technician work experience with experience supervising Phlebotomists are required. The candidate must possess general computer skills and have a valid North Carolina driver’s license with a good driving record sufficient to be insured under the Wayne Community College auto insurance policy.

Preferred Qualifications

 An Associate’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, a current National Phlebotomy certification, and five years full-time Phlebotomy Technician work experience are preferred. Experience teaching adults and online courses are preferred. A National Career Readiness Certification and bilingual are preferred.

Position Description

The instructor will evaluate the competency of each student through laboratory/skill practice and clinical evaluations while performing basic Phlebotomy techniques in compliance with appropriate state and national agencies. The candidate will travel to clinical sites as needed and will maintain all required academic, attendance, and student records. The instructor will teach the mandated curriculums utilizing the program guidelines and regulations and will perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Allied Health, Workforce Continuing Education Services.
