Position Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Instructor will be responsible for teaching Welding courses during the day and night (face-to-face) and online. Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner. Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance. Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour. Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment. Grades and returns student work in a timely manner. Counsel’s students regarding their grades and progress in the course. Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course. Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction. Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline OR Associate degree in a welding-related field
Preferred Requirements: - AWS certifications and 5 years work-related experience as a welder
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Community College teaching experience and delivering instruction using Moodle (Learning Management System) are preferred. At least three (2) years of professional experience in Welding
SKILLS:
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication. Must have a working knowledge of Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding of Plate/Pipe (Stick), Cutting Processes (OFC/Plasma/Arc Gouging), Blueprint Reading and Welding Symbols. Applicant must also have experience with fabrication and certification practices.
