Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree and two years of administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Specialized Skills:

Proficient in the use of personal computers and web-based communication, including online learning platforms, word processing, spreadsheets, and database software. Demonstrated ability to address the essential functions associated with this position, including the knowledge and abilities identified above.
 
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
 
Office environment with standard equipment and tasks. Position requires working at a computer and desk for extended periods of time. May require travel between campus offices and off-campus locations.

Preferred Qualifications

A working knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices, and previous experience in postsecondary or secondary schools are preferred. Understanding of and commitment to Alamance Community College’s vision and mission are highly desirable.

Position Description

The full-time temporary Administrative Assistant in Human Resources is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department to create, implement and manage the College’s policies and procedures regarding COVID-19.   This position supports the department by performing administrative functions such as drafting correspondences, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files and data, and providing information to students, faculty and staff on COVID-19 related matters.  This position works closely with the Human Resources and Public Safety departments.  

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collect and record information related to employee COVID-19 testing.
  • Create and maintain statistical data regarding employee COVID-19 testing and vaccinations.
  • Respond to employee COVID-19 self-reports.
  • Provide students, faculty and staff the College’s updated policies and procedures regarding COVID-19 prevention.
  • Record minutes from COVID-19 Taskforce Meeting and other meetings and collaborations related to COVID-19.  
  • Assist Public Safety and Human Resources Department with enforcing College COVID-19 policies and procedures.
  • Schedule meetings and appointments.
  • Maintain close working relationships with other departments and programs to assist in addressing broad programmatic issues, and foster a team approach to specific issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Type of Appointment: Full-Time, Temporary; 40 hours per week October 2021-April 30, 2022, with potential extension through September 2022, pending availability of funds.
