Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s degree with one to three years of relevant dental office work experience and knowled of dental terminology.  Applicants must demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.  Candidates must possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.  The assistant must be able to work independently, make minor decisions using good judgment, prioritize tasks, and take direction.  

Preferred Qualifications

A National Career Readiness Certificate and bilingual are preferred.

Position Description

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support for faculty, Dental Department Chair, Pharmacy Technology Program Coordinator and Allied Health/Public Services Division Dean.  This position requires interaction with the public, college students, faculty, and staff projecting an efficient and professional attitude.  The Assistant will supervise the dental clinic appointment desk, maintain all records, reports, files and budget for travel and supplies, prepare travel requests, contracts, purchase orders, work orders and requisitions; maintain office equipment/supplies and assign and maintain the list of student lockers.  This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a knowledge of computers and current dental office technologies such as Dentrix, aptitude with Word and Excel, and strong written and verbal communication skills.  The Administrative Assistant will perform other duties as assigned by the Dental Department Chair and/or Allied Health/Public Services Division Dean.
