Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalency and at least five years of administrative experience required, with two years of education at the postsecondary level preferred. An associate degree in office systems technology, information systems, or equivalent degree is also preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication (oral/written) skills
• Strong PC and hardware/software skills as well as operating system/application knowledge
• Excellent knowledge of Windows and Microsoft products
• Must be proficient in typing skills (minimum 50wpm)
• Ability to work in a professional and congenial manner with faculty, staff, students, and the general public
• Ability to work with minimum or no supervision

Position Description
Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant for the Public Safety Training Center at Mitchell Community College is responsible for managing the office and providing administrative support to all coordinators that work in the Public Safety Training Center in the delivery of the programs offered by the Division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Greet/assist faculty, staff, students, and visitors entering the work area
• Provide logistical support for training and educational activities
• Provide Clerical Support to the faculty/staff within the Division
• Perform data entry into the various Database programs maintained by MCC
• Maintain the records pertaining to student testing and other various forms of student evaluation
• Assist with maintenance of accreditation documentation in all areas of public safety
• Manage database of statistical data reports of all students enrolled in programs
• Assist in the preparation of contracts and payroll for adjunct faculty
• Coordinate documentation of new hires/re-hires of faculty/staff
• Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment for the delivery of the public safety programs
• Take and transcribe minutes for Public Safety Divisional Meetings and Advisory Board meetings
• Process budget forms (purchase requisitions, travel reimbursement, budget transfers, etc.)
• Provide faculty with technical support of various software packages
• Answer incoming calls on a daily basis to address questions, assist in relaying messages, and disseminating program information
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds.
