Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

High school graduate, two years’ experience in printing operations and safety monitoring.

Position Description

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the day-to-day operation of the auxiliary print shop services portion of this work unit's diverse and numerous operations, and to serve as the health and safety coordinator for the agency. This includes conducting research, providing information and follow-up recommendations to the Director of Procurement & Auxiliary Services and other staff relating to the print shop activities and the health and safety program.  The coordinator performs administrative duties in directing and coordinating a variety of supportive central office functions for the agency, including but not limited to; printing services, safety monitoring, safety drills, building functions, emergency response, and assisting the building coordinator.

The person in this position must maintain a working knowledge of current laws, policies and procedures related to the printing and copying of documents, the operation, maintenance, and functionality of print and copy solutions for the print shop printer and the multi-functional devices within the organization, workplace safety rules as set by federal and state agencies and appropriate emergency response activities. This person is responsible for ordering and maintaining an inventory of printing consumables, installing consumables as needed, and recycling consumables.  This person must also have the ability to communicate the appropriate policies and procedures orally and in writing to system office staff, contractors, and vendors; the ability to analyze problems and make decisions based on the law and current policies and procedures.

The person in this position must be able to read and understand rules and regulations and to apply the information gained in the accomplishment of their daily task.  They must be able to work independently, with minimum supervision. In conjunction with the building services coordinator, this position assists with building maintenance activities, janitorial services, shipping/receiving, fixed assets, mail receipt and distribution, be capable of driving a small truck or van and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. This person must maintain an effective working relationship with staff, contractors, and vendors, and have the ability to perform comprehensive administrative work.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/AND ABILITIES: Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and knowledge; working knowledge and experience in safety monitoring, drills, and emergency response; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to interpret current general statues, policies, rules and laws and the how to apply them to daily tasks. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word and Excel).

PREFERENCES: Experience in the operation of printing devices, including functionality, copying, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory. Experience in coordinating and performing building maintenance and issues for resolution, equipment, and supply disposal. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers; knowledge of US Mail and shipping/receiving; experience in critical thinking and analytical skills; knowledge of order and tracking paper inventory supply.
