Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution 
  • A minimum of one year customer service experience
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to thoroughly assist with the informational needs of individuals
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong computer skills and commitment to using technology
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Able to work occasional evenings and Saturdays if needed
  • Able to work at other locations
  • Openness and willingness to engage in professional development activities
  • Ability to be self-directed as well as work effectively and collaboratively with others in a team environment
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college
  • Effectiveness in the following College organizational competencies:
      -  Translating College purpose, values, and vision into organizational action
      -  Collaborating and facilitating
      -  Creating and innovating

Position Description

 

SUMMARY:

The Workforce and Continuing Education Administrative Support Staff position is a full-time 12-month position that is responsible for providing administrative support to Workforce and Continuing Education programs.  The position reports to the Dean of Workforce and Continuing Education and has the following responsibilities:
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting visitors and potential students and sharing information about programs
  • Respond to phone, email and website inquires in a timely manner regarding course information and enrollment opportunities Prepare and enter course information and data into the College data information system
  • Maintain records for non-credit instruction by semester for audit purposes
  • Prepare materials for non-credit classes
  • Prepare contracts and payroll reports to support College processes
  • Maintain social media accounts for Workforce and Continuing Education
  • Maintain current records to support data collection and instructional processes
  • Maintain database to support Customized Training projects and classes
  • Prepare and process purchase requests to support program needs
  • Serve on College committees and attend College meetings
  • Cross-train to assist in other areas of the school as needed
  • Promote College mission, vision and values
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed to facilitate program and course activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the College mission and initiatives
