A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. Three years of experience in the areas of records management, customer service, public relations, or a related field is required. The Candidate must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize duties to meet deadlines. The Applicant must have strong interpersonal and excellent customer service skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required. A valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a driving record sufficient to be insurable under the Wayne Community College auto insurance policy is required. The Applicant may be required to work extended hours during peak registration periods.
Knowledge of FERPA regulations, and experience with Ellucian Colleague system is preferred. Experience working with a diverse population to include students, parents, faculty, staff, and the general public is preferred. Bilingual and a National Career Readiness Certificate are preferred.
Under direct supervision of the Director of Admissions & Records, the Specialist will work closely with faculty and staff to manage and retain all curriculum attendance records following NCCCS compliance standards. The Admissions & Records Specialist II will perform various duties associated with curriculum admissions, registration, and records; to include, processing applications and acceptances, program changes, and ensuring accurate and confidential student academic records; and will perform all other duties as assigned.
