Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Excellent customer service and computer skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse groups of people.
Ability to manage multiple activities at once and prioritize effectively.
Ability to manage and troubleshoot complex admissions related processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Colleague system user experience.
Minimum of 1-2 years work experience in a post secondary or community college system or in a relevant field or setting.
Work experience in post secondary education in a student services related area or work experience related to customer service within an office environment.
Admissions experience in a collegiate environment preferred.
Position Description
The Assistant to Admissions and Recruitment will assist with the daily operation of the Admissions office including electronic record-keeping,interacting with prospective and existing students, guiding students through the residency determination process, assisting with recruitment activities, and processing applications and residency statuses.
Assists with the daily operation of the Admissions and Recruitment office including electronic record keeping, communication with prospective students, processing admissions applications, downloading and processing residency determinations, troubleshooting errors with residency, assisting student with residency document submissions.
Assists students who present to the admissions counter and answer the admissions phone line.
Establishes and maintains student admission files in the data system.
Responsible for applicant acknowledgements, correspondence, and other necessary follow-up with prospective students.
Communicates and provides information to interested individuals regarding the college, the admissions process, academic programs, and available services.
Enters college and high school transcript information into the data system.
Assigns academic advisors to students as established by Deans.
Enters changes to student accounts from Information Change Forms.
Maintains inventory of office supplies, brochures, and recruitment materials.
Generates and distributes admissions reports, enrollment summaries, and other data as required.
Schedules computerized placement test appointments.
Creates and mails correspondence and provides clerical support to the Admissions and Recruitment Office.
Scans all paper documents pertinent to a student’s file.
Responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of student information and records, with the ability to understand, articulate, and abide by laws that protect the confidentiality of student information and records.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve on appropriate college committees as assigned.
Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by employee and supervisor.
Interact with students, the public, the community, and coworkers in a cooperative, courteous, and professional manner.
Comply with the college’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Faculty and Staff Policy Manual.
Willingness to assist with campus tours and recruiting visits as needed.
Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned by supervisor.
