Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of increasingly responsible academic and career advising and admissions experience. Excellent communication, both oral and written, skills are necessary. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time Admissions Evaluator position. The ability to effectively apply academic program requirements through evaluation of applicant credentials, education, and training is critical to experiencing success in this position. A comprehensive understanding of the principles, objectives, and philosophy of student support services within the framework of the College’s mission statement is essential. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences, a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and see and appreciate multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks, and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Duties
The successful candidate will:
Advise students in the areas of admissions requirements, program requirements, admission status, and transfer of credits.
Interpret and apply college admission standards and policies to determine student eligibility and standing.
Perform “initial evaluation” of transfer credits to include, but not limited to: traditional, non-traditional, and life-learning experiences.
Determine applicant’s program eligibility through interpretation of standardized tests scores, previous education, and military training (Joint Service Transcript).
Review applicant files for accuracy and assume responsibility with minimum supervision.
Communicate efficiently and effectively both orally and in writing.
Ensure the evaluation process functions in a smooth and timely manner.
Establish work priorities and meet deadlines.
Serve as a liaison between students, staff, and faculty.
Respond to requests for information.
Refer students to counseling staff, success coaches, and other support services as appropriate.
Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Perform related duties as assigned.
