Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Services or related field with two years of relevant adult education experience is required.  This position requires the ability to work with a diverse population focusing on customer service.  

Preferred Qualifications

It is preferred that the candidate hold a Notary Public certification and has experience with Ellucian Colleague computer system.  A National Career Readiness Certificate and bilingual are preferred.

Position Description

This position promotes the philosophy, mission, and goals of Transitional Programs, the Division, and Wayne Community College.  The job duties for this position includes providing administrative support and instructional strategies for TPCC students, faculty, and serving as a resource to strengthen the quality of the programs.  Duties also include providing daily administrative support through accurate weekly, monthly and end-of-semester reports for routine stats.  The candidate will assist with recordkeeping and documentation for all campus classes; administer Locators, Pre and Post TABE tests and input TABE pre and post-tests and Literacy Education Information System (LEIS) data for campus Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Equivalency (HSE), and Adult High School (AHS) classes.  The candidate will maintain weekly updates to database for FTE and program evaluation and assist with monitoring student retention and follow-up.  They will participate in the departmental internal auditing process and assist in facilitating new student orientation.  The candidate will assist with the implementation of graduation and with departmental planning and on-going evaluation for program effectiveness.  The specialist will also perform any other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Student Support – WCE.
