Minimum Qualifications

  • demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate appropriate class offerings in the allied health arena
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work in a congenial and professional manner with students, faculty, staff and health care professionals
  • Bachelor’s degree is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • degree in Nursing, or a related Allied Health field is preferred
  • prior student advising, coaching, or counseling experience preferred

Position Description

Job Summary:

The Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of nursing assistant classes and other allied health classes taught through Continuing Education, while ensuring programmatic content and quality.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • prepare and promote a schedule of classes
  • secure and maintain sufficient and appropriate materials, supplies, books, equipment, audiovisuals, and other resources necessary for each course
  • maintain and make available as needed up-to-date course objectives, outlines, and syllabi
  • coordinate program evaluation and maintain appropriate programmatic records
  • coordinate with other allied health and nursing faculty in the appropriation and utilization of classroom facilities, equipment and supplies, and clinical sites
  • work closely with the Vice-President for Workforce Development and Continuing Education to assure programmatic quality
  • conduct classroom, lab, and clinical supervision consistent with course objectives
  • advise students relative to academic concerns and career decisions


Related Responsibilities:

  • be current on state and national regulations as they affect students and curriculum
  • assist in the evaluation of policies for admission, progression, and graduation
  • assist in the recruitment of students
  • assist in the registration and orientation of students
  • attend departmental faculty meetings
  • participate in professional organizations and attend conferences and workshops as feasible and appropriate
  • perform related responsibilities as required by Vice-President for Workforce Development and Continuing Education
