An associate’s degree is required in a computer-related discipline to include but not limited to digital art and digital media. Hands-on experience is required with simulation, virtual reality, animation, game development, graphic design, or 3D modeling. The ability to differentiate colors and shades of color, visual acuity to determine depth perception, and ability to visually inspect small pixel groups are required. Experience with any of the following technologies is preferred: Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Mudbox, Pixologic ZBrush, Adobe CS6, Epic Games Unreal Engine, YoYo Games GameMaker Studio, Unity 3D, artificial intelligence, motion capture, C++, C#, or Python.
Post-secondary and online teaching experience is preferred. Bilingual is preferred.
The Animation and Simulation Instructor is responsible for teaching an average of 18-20 contact hours per week. Teaching assignments may include on-campus and off-campus classes during the day, evening, weekend, and online. This position will include course development where applicable, timely submission of reports, participation on assigned committees, and participation in professional development. In addition this position serves as a program advisor. Participation in special events including meetings, orientation, graduation, recruitment activities, college planning processes, and adherence to achieving learning outcomes are required. Also, this position requires the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and could involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 20 pounds) and occasionally heavier weight (up to 50 pounds). Oral and written communications skills and a license to operate a motor vehicle are required.
