Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Social Science, Statistics, Research Methodology, Education, or a related discipline.

A minimum of one year of experience in institutional and/or programmatic assessment is required, as well as expertise in the use of statistical analytics to improve teaching and learning.

Reporting data in usable formats and using that data for documenting compliance with regional accreditation standards.
 

Minimum of 1-year of experience in the fields of mathematics, or statistics, or social sciences, or monitoring assessment plan activities at the institutional or programmatic area within a higher education setting.
 

Experience or willingness to complete training using statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, and/or Python within one year of employment.
 

Experience or willingness to complete training in data standardization, data cleaning, and reporting within eighteen months of employment.
 

Experience or willingness to complete training with data visualization, predictive analytics, and/or advanced statistical analysis within twelve months of employment.
 

Experience using vendor assessment management systems such as Watermark.
 

Demonstrated technical expertise regarding data models, database design and programming, data mining and data segmentation techniques, including data validation and correlational analysis using multiple input variables.
 

Experience with Ellucian.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in in Mathematics, Social Science, Statistics, Research Methodology, Education, or a related discipline

Position Description

Support college operations by monitoring and analyzing assessment plans from across the College including interpretation of assessment results and verification of collected evidence to demonstrate accreditation compliance.
 

Support the administration of a comprehensive, continual, and multi-dimensional student learning outcomes assessment program to enhance student success and drive continuous improvement.
 

Provides assessment support to the College’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Committee, General Education Assessment Committee, and Quality Enhancement Plan Committee.
 

Collaborates with the Coordinator of Quality Matters to collect data on the College’s quality assurance standards and monitor the Quality Matters course review process.
 

Performs appropriate tests to ensure accuracy and consistency of all data, documents query/report criteria, and processes to ensure consistent application of methodology in future projects.
 

Acquires, organizes, analyzes, and synthesizes data and results from internal and external data sources to produce meaningful and accurate reports using applied research methodologies.
 

Designs, develops, and implements analytical modeling, electronic databases, tables, processes and procedures in support of accountability, assessment, program reviews, and other internal management decision-making requirements.
 

Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns using complex data sets.
 

Analyzes data collected in multiple third-party vendor software programs, including but not limited to, program assessment software, dashboard technologies, and/or business intelligence software.
 

Utilizes appropriate data management and statistical procedures for data collection in support of the College’s departments. Creates, develops, and maintains databases as necessary to support research, planning, and annual reviews.
 

Manages, analyzes, and resolves data initiative issues and process revisions needed to best meet internal activities and federal, state, and local published data standards.
 

Conducts data cleaning to rid the system(s) of old, unused, or duplicated data for enhanced management and quicker access by departmental managers.
 

Possesses strong analytical skills with ability to analyze large amounts of data gathered from a wide variety of internal and external sources; including discerning the quality, validity, and reliability of literary and Internet resources.
 

Collects, analyzes, and organizes information and sorts that information using bar graphs, line graphs, and similar documents to assist managers in making timely data-informed decisions.
 

Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
 

Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional relationships with colleagues, attends professional development courses, and training and/or courses as required by the College.
 

Knowledge of:

Practices, theories, and concepts related to collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting research information and data.
 

Assessment Management Systems such as Watermark and related assessment management systems.
 

A variety of software (SAS, Tableau, Power BI, etc.) databases management systems.
 

Statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, or equivalent types of software.)
 

Survey design methods and best practices.
 

Higher education accreditation requirements and guidelines.
 

Ability to:

Demonstrate prior experience using Tableau or Microsoft Power BI or related software.
 

Assign a numerical value to collected data elements and various business functions so performance can be assessed and compared over time using rubrics or other measures of performance.
 

Demonstrate advanced skills using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
 

Demonstrate current knowledge of business intelligence platforms and/or reporting tools.
 

Work effectively with faculty, staff, administration, and community members in

soliciting and utilizing meaningful input.
 

Work independently and as part of a team using a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
