Example of Duties
The purpose of this position is to conduct ongoing placement testing and assist the Assessment Technician with progress testing for new and returning Academic and Career Readiness students. This includes assessment of Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language, and High School Equivalency students, and completion of required LEIS (Literacy Education Information System) forms. Work with special populations and provide approved accommodations as appropriate. Conducts 1-on-1 and group orientation sessions for our ESL population. Must maintain and submit accurate records in a timely manner, interact with a diverse staff and student population, analyze and input student data and assessment results, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree. Previous experience and/or training involving adult education and assessment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Knowledge of NRS and state performance measures, TABE online, Colleague, and Microsoft Office and Google Suite knowledge is strongly preferred. Fluency in spoken Spanish is strongly preferred.
Position Description
Part-time Temporary contract, up to 25 hours per week, will require a flexible schedule including regular evening/Saturday hours.
