Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of professional work experience in safety, security, or occupational health management.
- Ability to plan, assign, and direct the work of others in a team environment.
- Ability to exercise critical human relations skills.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills.
- Valid NC driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Law Enforcement, Management or Public Administration.
- BLET certified or law enforcement background.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and state laws regarding accidents and losses of property.
Position Description
Under the direction of the Chief Security & Safety Officer, the Assistant Chief will serve as the secondary staff member responsible in the planning and management of security, safety and occupational health matters.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Perform duties of the Chief of Security in his/her absence
- Coordinate activities of security, safety, and related functions
- Plan and organize all phases of the College’s fire, safety, and security operations plan
- Conduct loss of asset investigation and reports of accidents
- Assist in development and implementation of safety goals, objectives, and training across campus
- Collect accident and injury data reports
