Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as criminal justice, public administration, emergency management, or a related discipline). 
  • Ten plus years of experience in campus safety, security, emergency management, or a related field, with demonstrated progressive responsibility, including a minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, emergency response protocols, and public health practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Certification in OSHA-related disciplines is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines is highly desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Position Description

The Assistant Director of Campus Health, Safety & Security plays a critical role in ensuring the overall well-being and security of the campus community. This position requires a proactive and strategic approach to managing health, safety, and security programs, policies, and procedures.

The Assistant Director will collaborate with the Director, various campus departments, law enforcement agencies, and external partners to create a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
 

This position will involve evening and weekend work and may be assigned or relocated during a shift to any campus at any time.
 

The Assistant Director will be highly visible, interactive, and available to all persons on the assigned campus and will interact with students, visitors, and employees to answer questions, give directions, de-escalate situations involving conflict, refer students to various college resources i.e., counseling, advising, etc.
