Position Description

Basic Purpose of Position:  The basic purpose of this position will be to support the Director of Financial Aid in managing the daily operations of the Financial Aid office.  This position will assist in the oversight, administration and distribution of all Federal and State aid programs within the College.  They will work collaboratively with the Financial Aid Director and the Financial Aid Technician to ensure compliance with all regulations surrounding financial aid.  They will report directly to the Director of Financial Aid and will work in conjunction with the Director of Student Services and all other staff and faculty within the College to ensure the proper administration of student aid. 

Job Description/Duties: 

  • Assist in the management and supervision of the Financial Aid office operations; ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Participate in the direction and supervision of all policies and procedures required to process and manage financial aid (FA) applications, refunds, returns and account reconciliations for all sources of FA available within the College.
  • Participate in ensuring full student eligibility is established and maintained before awarding and distributing financial aid resources through accurate verification and awarding procedures.
  • Manage the systematic calculations of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards and participate in any SAP appeals along with other members of the Financial Aid committee.
  • Ensure proper records management for Financial and State audits.
  • Serve as an advisor to students, faculty, and other college staff regarding financial aid issues, policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a representative of the Financial Aid office at professional meetings, workshops, seminars, outreach and other community events. 
  • Collaborate with other members of the college faculty and staff to promote the effective dissemination of information regarding financial aid within the College.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid, Director of Student Services, or other College Administrator.
