Position Description
Job Description
The Assistant Registrar for Non-Credit is a full-time, 12-month position serving all locations but located primarily at the Tyson Family Center for Technology in Monroe, NC. Under the direction of the Registrar, the Assistant Registrar for Non-Credit provides high quality service to students and employees to achieve a high standard of excellence and innovation in support services by supporting the enrollment process, preparing student records, and helping to enforce the college’s policies and procedures.
Job Duties
• Exhibit an uncompromising commitment to SPCC as a learning-centered college through the college’s mission, vision, values, core skills and learning outcomes, and delivery of instruction and services
• Deal effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully with internal and external customers
• Assist the Registrar in oversight of policies and procedures to ensure timely and orderly registration of students
• Assist with local, state, and federal reporting to ensure adherence to guidelines
• Maintain confidentiality of student records within local, state, and federal guidelines
• Maintain integrity of the institution through accountability, accuracy, and ethical behavior
• Assist with updating and maintenance of student records (i.e. general application, data entry/name changes, address changes/telephone numbers)
• Provide assistance to students to include registering/dropping/adding/withdrawing classes; refer appropriately
• Process student withdrawals, instructor initiated withdrawals, grade changes, and course substitution requests
• Assist with document imaging students’ records/files to include clean up and maintenance of files
• Provide official transcripts and enrollment verifications upon request for all students
• Provide hands-on organization and filing of records
• Assist with grade entry, mailings, and/or dissemination of grades
• Prepare enrollment reports as requested
• Prepare reports and updates as needed
• Conduct credit evaluations of transcripts for students
• Monitor degree audit reports/evaluations upon submission for graduation and course substitutions for students’ graduation
• Assist with curriculum graduation and graduation fair(s)
• Assist with updating departmental procedures manual and forms
• Work variable schedule if needed, including evenings and/or weekends
• Participate in SPCC teams as requested
• Assist as needed in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of planning goals and objectives for Student Affairs in conjunction with the SPCC strategic plan
• Perform other duties as assigned
