Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in an area relevant to courses taught in the division

Two years of teaching experience in a post-secondary institution in computers

Two years of supervision, management, and leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Innovative, creative, motivated and adaptable

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to maintain records accurately and meet deadlines consistently

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to work effectively with diverse groups

Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, team building, and decision-making skills

Ability to use MS Office products including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point and ability to learn new products

Working knowledge of NC Community College System policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

Four years of teaching experience at a community college

Four years of leadership and supervision experience at a community college

Position Description

Pay Grade: Manager 7

This position is responsible for assisting the dean with oversight and leadership of the Computer Technologies Division, and in the absence of the dean, the associate dean will assume the dean's responsibilities and duties.

 Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

*Assists with oversight, growth and quality control of Associates in applied Science degree programs and courses that are under the purview of the Computer Technologies Division. 

* Assists the dean with daily operations, including data management and oversight of the division

*Assists with professional development and supervision support for division personnel

*Assists with the recruitment and training of new hires

*Assists with support and guidance for students

*Represents academic programs and division in college meetings and on committees

Assists the department heads, dean and the registrar's office with scheduling issues and enrollment management

Promotes sound instructional practices in all delivery methods, including supporting reviews and conducting walk-throughs.

Work with other college areas to address college, faculty and student needs;

Work with dean to develop division-wide institutional effectiveness and assessment plans

Work with department heads and Institutional Effectiveness to gather and report relevant data from departments and division

Assist department heads, dean, and Registrar's office with scheduling issues and enrollment management

Assist division with implementation of student success and retention strategies, projects, and initiatives

Assist dean with allocation and monitoring of division resources, fostering and maintaining external partnerships

Assist dean with new and existing articulation agreements and program reviews

Complete an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
