Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited institution with agreement to enroll and complete an accredited MSN program within five years of hire.
Work Experience:
Required: A minimum of two years clinical nursing experience and a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
Required Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication.
Proficiency with commonly used computer software.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution.
Work Experience:
Preferred: Post-secondary teaching experience in a pre-licensure nursing program.
General med/surgical, orthopedic, community health, or nursing home experience.
Position Description
Clinical assignments generally include day clinical and/or evening clinical and occur at clinical facilities based on curriculum and student needs. Lab instruction occurs on BCCC campus. Theory is primarily delivered in the classroom environment, but may include virtual instruction, based on program needs.
If the chosen candidate does not have teaching experience, they will receive preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, as required by the NC Board of Nursing. The individual will also participate in course and curriculum design, development of student learning outcomes, assessment and evaluations, serve on college committees, advise and register students, maintain office hours, and fulfill all the duties and responsibilities of BCCC faculty.
The chosen candidate will be peer mentored by an experienced faculty member to ensure continuity of program outcomes and a smooth transition into the faculty role.
