Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Four years of experience in accounting, financial aid, or business-related field
  • Or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a financial aid office setting

The Associate Director of Financial Aid is responsible for assisting the Director of Financial Aid with the orderly administration and leadership of the financial aid programs.   This position will be responsible for assisting with various financial aid strategies in support of student success objectives of the college. The Associate Director will know and uphold all federal, state, and college regulations, and assist the Director of Financial Aid program planning, compliance, aid processing, technology, scholarships, and other financial aid duties as assigned.

Essential Duties

  • Professionally and efficiently execute CCCC’s commitment to student success
  • Ensure that the Financial Aid Office serves students with courtesy and respect
  • Assist with the develop and implementation of strategies that support the timely delivery of financial aid to students
  • Work collegially with financial aid staff across all college departments to foster exceptional teamwork across college divisions
  • Assist Director with answering complaints and resolving financial aid problems for students, faculty, and staff
  • Manage, interpret, and assure compliance with all federal, state, and college financial aid policies and regulations
  • Responsible for the administration and reconciliation of the North Carolina Community College State Grant Program
  • Responsible for the administration and reconciliation of all Institutional, State, and Outside scholarships including the K14 Promise Program
  • Responsible for running CODE and resolving CODE rejects
  • Responsible for requesting MRR reports and monitoring student awards 
  • Responsible for the FATR process and FATP process with the college’s Business Office
  • Bookstore Liaison
  • Foundation Office Liaison
  • Student Communications
  • Assist with the reconciliation of financial aid programs as assigned
  • Assist Director with completion of reports as needed
  • Assist with outreach events and financial aid presentations
  • Assist Director with maintaining and set-up of the FA module in Colleague system
  • Provide supervision of the office in the absence of the Director
  • Provide back-up in the department as necessary during peak times
  • Serve on College committees, as assigned
  • Complete the annual required five-hour staff development 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
