A Master’s degree in education, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university with five years of increasingly responsible experience in the development and administration of academic programs in a college, university, governmental or corporate setting. Demonstrated experience managing assessment processes in higher education to improve student success.

A Doctorate degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university.

Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this critical, full-time position. The ability to successfully innovate, develop/update, and manage multiple divisions is critical to experiencing success in this position. Expertise in project management and supervision are essential criteria for success. Qualified candidates will possess the ability and experience to engage and collaborate with industry and community partners to create and continually improve programs that educate and train students for employment or advanced educational training at a 4-year institution. Duties

Assist the Senior Vice President for Academic & Student Services and academic deans in developing, planning, implementing, and administering academic and administrative goals, objectives and procedures necessary to provide for-credit curricular programs and services to College students; develop for approval new or modified programs, systems, and procedures. Recommend new policies, interpret and implement existing curriculum policies.

Lead the curriculum division in the on-going process of continuous improvement using annual assessment data to enhance student success and meet institutional goals. Monitor the implementation of actions plans identified by faculty and staff. Provide input for the Strategic Plan, including assessing academic needs for personnel, equipment, and facilities.

Monitor, oversee, and coordinate the development and maintenance of academic standards related to all curricular courses and programs; ensure that courses and programs comply with College policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

Ensure that programs comply with state, regional, or national standards as applicable.

Develop, oversee and coordinate affiliation, service area, and transfer agreements as necessary to provide programs, services and transfer opportunities needed by students and employees.

Participate in the development and administration of annual academic division budget; forecast funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures.

Assist in the development and review of specifications for renovations and design of new buildings and in effective utilization of existing classroom and lab space.

Coordinate educational and career activities across academic units and departments and with external partners and stakeholders to increase relevance in the learning processes with organizations.

Participate in the self-study process for each curriculum program seeking approval, re-approval, accreditation, or re-accreditation.

Consult with and provide staff assistance and advice to the SVP for Academic & Student Services; develop, prepare, and present recommendations and reports as requested.

Implement and monitor the Program Review (APR) process. Ensure that appropriate documentation is contained in each report to support findings and recommendations. Monitor to ensure action plans are being implemented and outcomes are documented for use in accreditation and program self-studies. Monitor responses to recommendations and correlate APRs with the Strategic Planning Process.

Supervise, train, motivate, and evaluate academic and administrative staff; establish and monitor employee performance objectives; prepare and present employee performance reviews; provide or coordinate instructional training to full-time and adjunct faculty in conjunction with Instructional Coaches.

Counsel and advise both staff, faculty, and students on a variety of academic and administrative matters; assess student standing and needs; suggest alternative courses of action; settle student, faculty, and staff grievances.

Serve on a variety of committees and task forces; research and develop recommendations based on evidenced based practices related to both the academic and administrative affairs of the College.

Oversee and coordinate the operations of the curriculum instruction department; monitor and evaluate workload; evaluate and recommend policies; develop and establish procedures.

Participate in the marketing of the College to the community; make presentations to the community, schools, service organizations (Kiwanis, Rotary, etc.) and corporate contacts as appropriate.

Represent the College at community and outside organizational functions.

Perform related duties as assigned.
