Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technology related field is required for this position.  Also required is three (3) to five (5) years of network experience, cybersecurity and audit experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

Supervisory experience is preferred.

Position Description

Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services, ensures the integrity of all campus technology related services including infrastructure and support.  Supervisory responsibilities include Assistant Director of IT and IT Support Technicians.

Provides guidance and necessary assistance to the IT Department in the planning, organizing, and supervising of the technology operations of the college.  Provides ongoing improvement of college cybersecurity footprint including network infrastructure, firewall, server, desktops, miscellaneous hardware and software hardening to ensure continuous integrity of all campus technology.  Assists with maintaining compliance for various departments involved in online processes (PCI, HIPAA, FERPA, etc.).  Responsible for maintaining integrity of data to ensure security of technology systems including system backups and retention.  Research and stay abreast of current and upcoming technologies in order to assist users with technology purchases.   Determines compliance with selected policies, procedures, and regulations. Make recommendations to senior administration to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness of current control processes.  Promotes awareness of internal controls and/or changes in policies that will impact the flow of system information.  Conducts professional development sessions as needed for miscellaneous technology related products and services of the college.  Performs special investigations as requested by senior administration.  Serves on institutional committees if appointed.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:  Principles and practices of server, desktop, and infrastructure related hardware and software; Policies, procedures, practices, terminology and software applications; Troubleshooting tools and techniques; and cybersecurity techniques and platforms including but not limited to hardening campus infrastructure, hardware and software (including wired and wireless).  Ability to:  Provide technical leadership in information technology and audit services; Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Operate a PC and related software; Maintain effective working relationships with users, vendors, management, and other governmental officials; and Understand the technical language, programming, and applications of computers and servers in the College's operations.
