Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Aviation Systems Technology or completion of an accredited FAA 147 School program is required. Applicants must have a current certification with the combined Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) mechanic license by the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA). Good oral and written communication skills are required. Proficiency with computer software required.  

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of full-time employment as an FAA licensed A&P mechanic preferred. Two years of community college or post-secondary teaching experience preferred. Preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation preferred. Bilingual preferred

Position Description

Primary responsibilities include classroom and lab instruction of aviation students. Additional duties include course planning, development, and evaluation; create, administer, maintain records, and maintain course tests and exams, lab projects, and other activities. Generate reports for evaluation of students in each course. Other duties include recruiting and advising students, serving on committees, managing budgets, and ordering supplies, and participating in college activities such as professional development opportunities. Ensure all academic training for the AMT program maintains compliance with Federal Aviation Agency Regulations. Network with other Aviation Maintenance Training Schools and help foster our business partner relationships.
