Associate degree in Business Administration or closely related field with three years' Human Resources experience required.

- Rules and regulations regarding Affordable Care Act reporting and compliance
- General Human Resource principles
- General technology including basic computer use, MS Office Suite
- General employment laws and regulations
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- Experience with NC State benefits and retirement system strongly preferred

Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and/or with experience with a State or local agency in benefits administration, payroll processing, or human resources.
Administer major medical and supplemental benefits throughout year and during open enrollment; coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate deductions and elections are submitted and processed for each employee.
Organize annual open enrollments, communicate accurate and timely benefits information to employees, coordinate with providers, and oversee enrollment periods.
Serve as institutional administrator and representative for worker's compensation.
Process employee termination actions, including calculating deferred compensation and leave payouts, ending leave plans, communicating relevant information, and terminating benefits.
Process Employees' State retirements including providing education and guidance, completing and submitting all necessary paperwork, following up to ensure potential retirees' understanding of process.
Support all office functions including (but not limited to) recruiting efforts, time keeping, leave auditing by cross training and staying abreast of updates and changes to maintain office effectiveness.
Process, calculate, and ensure accuracy of payroll actions for status and/or benefits changes, additions, etc. in order to provide timely and accurate information to payroll monthly processing.
Coordinate and oversee all ancillary benefits, including employee recognitions, flu clinics, and longevity pay administration to ensure timely service and accurate actions.
Research supplemental benefits plans and providers to establish and maintain competitive programs and obtain best value and service possible for employees.
Assist with mandatory reporting functions using Colleague and other databases in order to maintain regulatory compliance and keep accurate information for use by college.
Oversee and track Short and Long-term Disability, Shared Leave, FMLA, and other benefits to ensure excellent customer service to employees and to maintain all necessary compliance.
Assist with orientation and onboarding through the use of technology, personal communication, and providing other media or materials in order to provide new employees a smooth transition to employment at CVCC.
Utilize technology to improve processes, increase efficiency, and facilitate communication.
Collaborate with Human Resources team to support electronic and physical file maintenance.
