Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Biology with courses specific to anatomy and physiology or a related field or a Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in biology courses specific to anatomy and physiology and documented experience teaching anatomy and physiology. Excellent communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must be efficient in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Applicants not meeting these minimum requirements will not be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience in Anatomy and Physiology at the community college or four-year college level. On-line teaching experience.

Position Description

Provide quality and engaging instruction for face-to-face and online classes to include days, evenings, and weekends both on and off campus.

Prepare lesson plans, course overviews, and course syllabi.

Incorporate latest instructional technologies in course delivery & utilize interactive learning technologies to engage students in the teaching and learning process.

Recruit students for FTCC programs.

Advise students in the Associate in Science program.

Monitor and improve student retention, course pass rates, and program completion data.

Provide input on program review, assessment, and other departmental activities.

Periodically evaluate and develop new courses.

Revise and update existing courses for relevancy and currency consistent with the role and mission of the College.

Maintain face-to-face and/or online classroom environments conducive to student learning, engagement, and retention.

Maintain accurate scholastic and membership records of students enrolled in classes and prepare and submit reports as required.

Continually develop and improve skills through professional development.

Maintain effective working relationships with other people.

Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.
