Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree in related field or five (5) years direct related experience in lieu of degree, required

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related field with two (2) years’ experience in radio broadcasting, preferred

Triple A, Americana, Alternative, Bluegrass, Blues and Jazz music formats experience, preferred

Audio Vault experience preferred

Knowledge of public broadcasting and on-air radio experience preferred

Position Description

Essential Responsibilities

1. Engineering all live performances occurring in Studio-B and at remote locations to include: Pre-production, first line artist contact, instruction in Federal Communication Commission (FCC) broadcast language and phrasing, and serving as host for performing artists as necessary

2. Responsible for recording, mixing and mastering “Crowd Around The Mic” CD series

3. Host WNCW live or prerecorded programming on a fill-in basis as necessary

4. Act as liaison with the business office during the annual inventory

5. Represent WNCW through public personal appearances

6. Participate in on air fundraising

7. Other duties as assigned


Skills and Abilities

1. Develop an understanding and appreciation of the mission, history, current programs, services and goals of Isothermal Community College

2. Knowledge of broadcasting rules and regulations

3. Knowledge in maintenance, usage and design of technical broadcast equipment

4. Knowledge of Wavelab, Nuendo, or similar multitrack recording software

5. Skills in responding to operation/technical equipment problems

6. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

7. Computer automation skills

8. Ability to work well with a variety of people and groups. Strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal and time management skills

9. Ability to be self-directed and to complete work independently

10. Creative, flexible, and goal oriented

11. Possess energy, integrity, and the desire to succeed

12. Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
