Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

Three years of data analysis and visualization experience.

Training:

An Associate’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting; or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; certification(s) in Microsoft Power BI or Tableau; Google Business Analytics.

Position Description

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for data analytics and analysis of performance measures including, ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, data visualizations and information dissemination. Responsible for the maintenance of business intelligence applications. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems and difficulties associated with data comparisons to help formulate decision recommendations. Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances decision-making capabilities by providing data visualization to summarize data, trends, and patterns. Maintains data research that is highly integrated within the College’s strategic planning, assessment analyses, accreditation planning data, and the program review process. Supports accreditation reporting and quality assurance efforts through use of computer software and various databases.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Supports College operations using data analytics, data collection, and data visualizations and reporting along with information dissemination.

Acquires, organizes, analyzes, and synthesizes data and results from internal and external data sources to produce meaningful and accurate reports using applied research methodologies.

Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns using complex data sets.

Analyzes data collected in multiple third-party vendor software programs, including but not limited to, programmatic dashboard technologies, and/or business intelligence software.

Conducts data cleaning to rid the system(s) of old, unused, or duplicated data for enhanced management and quicker access by departmental managers.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining business intelligence applications.

Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances decision making capabilities.

Engages in data exploration exercises with a variety of complex business intelligence tools, requiring knowledge of relational database structures.

Serves as a resource on technical and business intelligence matters.

Contributes ideas and suggestions for solutions to data visualization difficulties.

Responds to urgent, impromptu, and unplanned situations by assessing their level of importance and instituting appropriate action.

Prioritizes daily tasks and assignments appropriately.

Completes mandatory software or business analytics training as required.

Collaborates with other departments as required to facilitate responses to data requests.

Remains competent and current through self-directed professional learning, collaborating with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required by the College or supervisor.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
