Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or information Technology from a regionally accredited university or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience preparing reports and dashboards.
Skills and Abilities
An ideal candidate will bring to this position a willingness to learn, the ability to work collaboratively, and critical thinking skills. Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience and strong skills in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI
- Ability to retrieve, manipulate, and present data using pivot tables, formulas, and other available data tools within Excel and Power BI.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Elevated level of self-initiative and self-direction
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to oversee multiple projects.
- Ability to collaborate with various people on differing tasks or issues while maintaining a courteous, helpful, and professional demeanor.
- Provide exceptional customer service with people internally and external to the institution.
- Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college.

Position Description
The Business Intelligence Coordinator works collaboratively with college staff and faculty to understand processes and information needs. The Business Intelligence Coordinator uses available data sources to research questions and to develop solutions. The Business Intelligence Coordinator designs, tests, documents, and supports Power BI dashboards and other analytical reports for staff and faculty.
Essential Duties Summary
Design
- Capture business requirements via interviews, study business processes, and evaluate existing systems, procedures, and documentation.
- Creates and maintains accurate and detailed requirements, scopes of work, functional specifications, and associated documentation.
- Become a subject matter expert for assigned projects.
- Acts as an interface between staff and faculty, technology teams, and support teams to support a collaborative process.
- Collaborate with staff and faculty on report design and usability.
- Develop prototypes to illustrate application usability concepts.
Test
- Analyzing systems requirements, validating data, and collaborating with users to assess, debug, and troubleshoot.
Document
- Write and maintain program documentation (User Guides and Business Process Documents)
Support
- Serve as the point of contact for dashboards and reports. support customer service and operational support to staff and faculty.
- Collaborate with staff and faculty to adapt existing reports and dashboards to satisfy evolving data needs.
- Perform ongoing data, dashboard, and report validation, resolving issues as they arise.
- Perform routine maintenance to maintain data pipeline and to update reports for new terms and fiscal years.
