Associate’s Degree required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Existing business and industry contacts in Iredell County strongly preferred. Knowledge of training provided within a continuing education setting would be beneficial. Strong marketing skills and a good technical background with regard to previous and current business and industry trends are required.

Position Description

The Business Services Coordinator will act as part of the Mitchell Community College Customized Training business services team reporting directly to the Director of Customized Training. The team works closely with local business/industry attempting to understand and identify client's needs and provide solutions, evaluate, adapt new strategies, and keep up with current business trends. This includes working with apprenticeships, internships, North Carolina Manufacturing Institute, short-term training courses, curriculum courses and contract training. Salary will commensurate with experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Business Services coordinator will manage and maintain records as required by Apprenticeship NC for Mitchell Community College's Apprenticeship program. Coordinate and schedule the Certified Production Technician courses. Create a database of students and employers. Maintain relationships with the NC Manufacturing Institute employers and partners. Assist in resume writing and interview practice, schedule and execute the interview fair. Maintain Mitchell's information on the NC Manufacturing Institute website. Represent Mitchell Community College at industry and community events Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Customized Training or VP of Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Surroundings/Environment: Standard office environment, usually indoors away from the elements. Physical Effort: The work is sedentary in nature although includes periods of moving about the office or between buildings and locations. Work may require sitting for extended periods viewing a computer; and will require occasional movement of up to 25 lbs. Scheduling: This is a full-time position with office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings, during peak enrollment periods. Travel: Local travel is required, including between campus locations.
