Minimum Qualifications
Required Education/Experience:
- Associate Degree in related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years’ experience in an office setting, purchasing, or customer service
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Experience using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office with ability to quickly learn other computer programs as necessary
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service to internal and external customers
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to comfortably work as part of a team, but also able to work autonomously
- Ability to climb ladder and lift 45 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Experience with Etrieve, NC eProcurement, or Colleague

The Buyer/Equipment Coordinator performs a variety of technical duties in support of the purchasing department.

Essential Duties
- Process Etrieve requisitions for supplies and equipment, enter purchase requisitions into eProcurement, and create purchase orders in Colleague
- Support end users in the requisition process, conduct market research and monitor purchasing process to ensure College's compliance with the State’s purchasing requirements
- Update purchase orders in Colleague to enable receiving and payment of invoices
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with College employees and Vendors, including assistance to end users with resolving disputes with vendors
- Maintain equipment database
- Physical equipment inventory; yearly tracking and reporting of inventory results
- Enter transfers on the NC Surplus site to transfer assets for public sale
- Complete vehicle title/registration applications and maintain vehicle files
- Facilitate the ordering process for employee and student nametags
- Serve as back-up administrator for College systems as needed
- Serve on College committees as assigned
- Complete the annual five-hour staff development
- Submit records and forms in a timely fashion as required in the policy and procedures manual
- Encourage and support college activities, policies, procedures, and philosophies
- Actively participate in professional organizations
- Assume other duties as requested by the supervisor and the college
